In OMC’s 2-144F Stranded Loose Tube Double Armored&Sheath (GYTA53) PE Cable, A Steel Wire (sometimes sheathed with polyethylene (PE)) locates in the center of core as a metallic strength member. Single-mode/multimode Fiber are positioned in the loose tube, which is made of PBT materials and filled with filling compound. The tubes (and fillers) are stranded around the strength member into a compact and circular core. A Water blocking tape and an aluminum Polyethylene Laminate (APL) is applied around the cable core. Then covered with a thin polyethylene (PE) inner sheath, Then a corrugated steel tape armor is applied, the cable is completed with a PE outer sheath.

The nominal value of the PE outer sheath thickness is 1.8mm. The nominal value of the PE inner sheath thickness is 0.8mm.
